Wow! I have been waiting to get a hold of this video for almost 3 years for some reasons! (click on the Facebook link all the way before the end to see the video)

This was done in June 2011 in collaboration with my friends King G (VI de Luxe) and So Frenchie (Dougimania). The pool party we organized, with no one in the pool, took place ast the W South Beach, with DJ K Razor spinning. 

At that time, Miami Real Estate was just starting to pick up again. It's fair to say that, for those who bought back then in these buildings we recommended, they saw their investment grow by 60 to 90% in not even 3 years. In fact the Epic was at about 425/sq.ft back and is now at about 750-850 depending on the line. Likewise pretty much for the Icon Brickell.

But the point of this video, and the reason I was very much looking forward to finally get it, is that it feels like when you come across a vacation video from way back. It brings back good memories! We had a lot of fun on the shoot. Most importantly it's nice to see that we are still pretty close to most of the people in this video, and that some nice friendships have matured ever since! It also remind me that my son Max, 3 year old today, had spent a few nights at the hospital the days prior to that shoot, and that he's today a beautiful little boy!

Some of us were way skinnier back then, actually most of us, including myself! I'm not going to comment on the other guys and will let you have fun doing it! :)

For those of you not speaking french I'm very sorry to say that this video is only in french because it was done for a French major network. Nevertheless, you'll still have some fun watching it!

As we predicted ever since the launch of the Icon Bay back in the summer of 2012, Edgewater is on its way to become one of the most sought after neighborhood in Miami! Back then, we personally didn't know that the likes of Cervera and Related will be lining up several luxury projects such as Paraiso Bay, Ice, and Biscayne Beach...to this strip of land which today has not much going on excepted its prime location on the bay, and it's proximity to the Design District, Wynnwood, Brickell/Downtown, and South Beach. These are actually the very reasons, combined with the then low price per square foot ($475-$525 roughly), and the success of not so far Paramount Bay building, that we strongly encouraged our parents, friends, clients and ourselves to buy there! We thought that, at that price, in that location, with Jorge Perez behind it, it could not really go wrong!

Today, about 18 months later, I’m glad to say that we couldn't have been more right about it! Actually, Edgewater popularity has just reached another dimension with David Guetta's recent acquisition (yes, he paid for it by the way!) of a magnificent Upper Penthouse at Paraiso Bay a few weeks ago!

It all started about a year ago. I remember seating down with David and a friend of mine discussing about the development of Miami in general, but more particularly of Edgewater and its surroundins. I told him that we bought at Icon Bay ourselves because we strongly believed it was the last great deal Miami real estate had to offer (after Millecento!)! Back then, Icon Bay was sold out, so we had not much to offer...till came Paraiso Bay and Jorge Perez's vision for yet another grandiose place to live!

Here is what David had to say to the press about Paraiso bay and Edgewater last week: "I have been following the evolution of Edgewater and the surrounding areas for a little while now as I believed this could develop into something really interesting in the years to come. When I was introduced to Paraiso Bay, it confirmed the idea I had in mind of how this area should be: some sort of ideal mix between city and vacation living in the heart of Miami. Looking closely at all Paraiso Bay had to offer, I figured it would be an excellent investment opportunity to take advantage of what this up and coming neighborhood will surely become, while enjoying what will be a great building to relax whenever I'll be in town."

"Being from Europe, I always thought that Miami was only Miami Beach. And like everybody from France, that's what we think," he added. "Of course, it's amazing, but for me to buy a place, I need also something else. Then I discovered the art district and the Design District and all of this, and I'm like, 'Wow, this is a little more cool, a little more cultural.'" To which he added “I would have never imagined this would exist. It's like the perfect combination between a little bit of that European flavor and it reminds me of home. But at the same time, the sexiness of Miami and the beach and the beautiful weather."

Other celebrity buyers such as former tennis champion Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, San Antonio Spurs Shooting Guard Manu Ginobili, and a former Real Madrid player (one of our clients who also bought a Upper Penthouse unit…and who is not David Beckham in case you were wondering!), were seduced by Paraiso Bay as well! 

Famous or not, all of the lucky ones who will be living there will be enjoying magnificent views, an elevated 100 ft diameters (33m) lagoon pool facing the bay, a cinema, a luxury spa with a state-of-the-art gym, 2 tennis courts with instructors, a beach club with a marina, watersports, and a top-chef restaurant which will most likely be headed by Michael Schwartz (Michael’s Genuine,…). What else? I’m sure I’m forgetting many other amenities!

Paraiso Bay “Tower 1” is about 70% sold out, but there are still some great units available in the $550 to $650/sq.ft range. Moreover, “Tower 2” will also add another 355 units! Hi Everyone,

We came across this very interesting article in the New York Times this weekend and figured we would share it with you while providing a quick summary along with my perspective.

Most of us are  familiar with the 2 most important projects currently in progress in Miami, the Brickell City Center (Swire & Ball Harbor Shops) and the Design District (Dacra & LVMH), but are not necessarily fully aware of the strategic battle for luxury dollars going on behind!

In a nutshell, this article explains how The Bal Harbor Luxury Mall has invested in the Brickell City Center to counter-strike the Design District which is currently luring luxury shops away from their mall. In fact, many high-end brands have left behind Bal Harbour Shops, for years a magnet to the wealthy, for more breathing room in Miami’s Design District.

While the Design District is certainly going to be great, especially with the luxury constructions along the bay "Edgewater" (Icon Bay, Paraiso Bay, Biscayne Beach,...)....I believe that Brickell is going to see even more spectacular changes within the next 2-5 years. Unlike the Design District, Brickell is already a solid destination for businesses, residential buildings, luxury hotels,  restaurants, and with much more to come.

As I have been saying for the past couple of years, the development of the area commonly known as Mary Brickell with projects such as the gigantic Brickell City Center (Swire, Bal Harbor Shops), is going to give depth to the the neighborhood which was basically made of Brickell Avenue and that's it. Other developments such as Brickell Height (Related), along with many of the luxury buildings in development like the Millecento (Related/Pininfarina), the SLS Hotel & Residences (Related/Philippe Starck), The Bond (Cervera), Echo brickell, Brickell House....are, without a doubt, going to seal Brickell into one of the most desirable place to live in America. More than ever it will be one of these rare places where one could work, live, and play, and all that along the magnificent blue waters of Biscayne Bay, 10 minutes away from paradisiac Key Biscayne, South beach, and the airport!
